Additionally, the five white dormer windows were meticulously flashed and sealed to protect the home against water intrusion. A two-story brick home in the Willow Branch neighborhood of Chelsea is currently undergoing targeted roof repair to address critical transition areas. On the steep roof slopes, a self-adhering StormGuard leak barrier is being installed beneath the dark brown architectural shingles. Along the roofline, damaged wood trim at the soffit returns and fascia is being replaced with fresh backing boards to seal up the eaves. This work integrates with the home’s existing dark brown seamless gutters and downspouts to ensure proper water shedding away from the brick and stucco exterior walls. These targeted updates resolve vulnerable intersection points to protect the structural integrity of the home.

Gentilly Forest Roof Replacement and Deck Rebuild

Active renovation work is underway on Columbiana Road in the Gentilly Forest neighborhood of Vestavia Hills to update both the home's roof and its rear outdoor living space. A complete roof replacement is currently in progress, with older, weathered asphalt shingles being stripped away down to the plywood. Damaged sections of decking are being replaced with new plywood sheets before synthetic underlayment and fresh gray architectural shingles are laid down. Simultaneously, the backyard features a weathered wood deck and overhead pergola structure that are undergoing a full custom decks rebuild.

Old Looney Mill Rd

Our crew is building a stone corn shed on a property along the Cahaba River, off Old Looney Mill Road in Vestavia Hills. All of the rock came from the same property. An older structure there was falling apart, so we reclaimed the stone and relaid it into the walls of the shed. Look close at the photos and you can see flecks of the original paint and the weathered patina on the face of the rock, so the new walls carry the history of the building they came from. The masonry is up, the doorway is framed, the roofline is framed out with wood fascia, and a concrete apron sits at the entry. Shelving, doors, and a metal roof come next to finish out the structure.

The exterior is receiving a complete siding installation, transitioning from aging tan lap siding to a modern sage-green board and batten profile. On the roofline, corrugated metal roofing is paired with clean white gutter installation to improve drainage and weather protection. Interior spaces are currently opened to the studs, exposing diagonal subfloor planks and plumbing lines in preparation for modern upgrades and window replacement. Worn rear steps and landings are also slated for updates to establish secure, cohesive custom decks.
