Project Overview
Our crew is building a stone corn shed on a property along the Cahaba River, off Old Looney Mill Road in Vestavia Hills. All of the rock came from the same property. An older structure there was falling apart, so we reclaimed the stone and relaid it into the walls of the shed. Look close at the photos and you can see flecks of the original paint and the weathered patina on the face of the rock, so the new walls carry the history of the building they came from. The masonry is up, the doorway is framed, the roofline is framed out with wood fascia, and a concrete apron sits at the entry. Shelving, doors, and a metal roof come next to finish out the structure.

The final exterior layer features dark gray ribbed metal panels fastened securely from the roof ridge to the white trim at the eaves. This updated profile coordinates cleanly with the home's light brick walls and dark window shutters.
